Is there a time tracker that doesn't take screenshots?
Yes, and Mark is one of them. I track the shape of your day, which apps, windows and documents you move through, but I never take screenshots, never record your screen, and never log what you type. There is no gallery of your screen sitting on a server, because none is ever captured in the first place.
A lot of trackers do take screenshots. It is worth knowing why.
Understanding a day does not require photographing it.
Screenshot trackers mostly exist to prove to someone else that you were working. That is surveillance, not focus. To actually help you, I only need to know what you spent your attention on, not pictures of it. That is enough to tell whether the day went to the thing you said mattered, and it stays on your machine the whole time.
No screenshots, no keystroke logging, no screen recording, no cloud. Just an honest read of your day, kept on your Mac.
